Our beautiful city suffered a horrible flood at the beginning of May.
We've never been more proud to live here. The resilience and spirit of Nashville's people shined bright and the city is close to being back in working order.
The week after the flood, Matt and I went to the Ryman Auditorium (the original Grand Ole Opry) to see the Goo Goo Dolls in concert. We walked around the city prior to the show and saw some of the damage from the flood...
The Cumberland River literally overflowed into downtown. This is Broadway and Second.
And the symphony.
We are so lucky to live on high ground and had no flood damage to our home at all. Some people lost everything... some are still fighting with insurance companies and some are still rebuilding bridges and roads. We are so blessed.
Lauren
