Last weekend, I got a hold of this cabinet that's been sitting in our half bath for the past 4 years... it was almost tossed out by a good friend during a move, but Matt (being the broke bachelor that he was at the time) decided to save it.
I'm glad he did! She's been screaming at me to lighten her up for ages, and I finally obliged.
I absolutely love the antique, rubbed brass handles on the white drawers. LOVE! Matt likes it too... I convinced him that the white is much more appropriate in our "UGA" themed bathroom. :)

New Treasures
Matt and I worked on a few more items for the shop recently... I say this about every yellow window I ever refinish but... it's my favorite ever!

bloom
I think every year has a theme to it. Maybe that theme is evident at the strike of midnight. Maybe it takes one 364 days to realize the year’s true purpose.
While not official, 2011 was marked with intentionality in the Giesler household. We made big plans, followed through, and made certain that we enjoyed each and every day to the fullest.
I have an inkling of a feeling about my word for 2012.

I have an inkling of a feeling about my word for 2012.

BLOOM.
“And don’t be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else. Where you are right now is God’s place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there… Stay where you were when God called your name. Were you a slave? Slavery is no roadblock to obeying and believing… under your new Master you’re going to experience a marvelous freedom you would have never dreamed of… Friends, stay where you were called to be. God is there. Hold the high ground with him at your side.”
1 Corinthians 7:17-24 MSG

This year, we will bloom where we are planted.

Bookworm
I wrote before about my rekindled love affair with reading. There is something to be said about getting lost in a story... the plot, the characters, the conflict, the resolution.
I think it's therapeutic, to say the least.
Since April, I have read 27 books on my kindle, and quite possibly a dozen or more "real" books... There were many winners and a few duds, but here is my list of very favorites:
Honorable mentions:
Reflection (Diane Chamberlain)
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Stieg Larsson)
The Mill River Recluse (Darcie Chan)
Secrets She Left Behind (Diane Chamberlain)
Before the Storm (Diane Chamberlain)
Redeeming Love (Francine Rivers)
Redeeming Love (Francine Rivers)
The Midwife's Confession (Diane Chamberlain)
Her Mother's Shadow (Diane Chamberlain)
Kiss River (Diane Chamberlain)
The Escape Artist (Diane Chamberlain)
Cypress Point (Diane Chamberlain)
The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes (Diane Chamberlain)
Water for Elephants (Sara Gruen)
House Rules (Jodi Picoult)
I hope you find the time to enjoy a few good reads this year...
