In pictures

Our last few weeks... in pictures:

We spent Labor Day weekend at the lake with Matt's family. It was our nephew's first time on the lake, and our last time for the summer. Ahhh, sweet summer.

There's no place this man rather be than on the water...

I got to spend time with my favorite red heads...

...While Matt went skiing with his cousin, Courtney, visiting from Dallas where she's getting her Doctorate! We're so proud of her.

Molly and Momma catching some rays...

We visited the spot where Matt and I got engaged... Our Island. Formerly (and most commonly) known as Church Island. Beautiful, huh?

All in all, Labor Day was beautiful.

Later in the month, we had poker night at our place.

We finished our dining room table and chairs! I'm very pleased.

We went to a Georgia game. It was memorable because it was the first game I've ever been to (as a student or not) that the Dawgs lost. Sad day.

September, you were good to us!

Glory Glory

It's that time again...

You wake up on Saturday morning with excitement running through your veins. Meat goes on the grill before noon and appetizers in mismatched dishes start to fill the table. Hugs are passed out in bunches and toasts are made. Conversation and last minute preparations cease when everyone gathers around the television for that very first kickoff that sends chills up your spine...

It's football season. And better yet, it's Georgia Bulldog football season.

Glory Glory to ole Georgia. Heroes have graced the field before you. Men with hearts, bodies and minds for which the entire Bulldog Nation can be justifiably proud. The tradition of unbridled excellence demonstrated by these individuals and many others spans more than a full century. And now a new breed of bulldog stands ready to take the field of battle. To assume the reigns of the Georgia program. To continue that tradition. Understanding that there is no tradition more worthy of envy. No institution worthy of such loyalty as The University of Georgia. As we prepare for another meeting between the hedges let all the bulldog faithful rally behind the men who now wear the red and black with two words. Two simple words that express the sentiments of the entire Bulldog Nation. GO DAWGS!

From here until December, our Saturdays will be occupied. Our Georgia T-shirts will become a little more worn, faded. Our weekends away will be governed by the proximity to a television and whether or not we can pick up the game. I will exhaust my seven-layer dip and chocolate chip cookie recipes. We will make fools out of ourselves, waving a fist in the air, and calling out the Dawgs in the middle of a crowd of Vols fans here in Rocky Top Country.

And I couldn't be more excited. Here's to fall Saturdays spent with sweet friends, good food, and great football.
